Into God’s Loving Arms Thou Shalt Go (A Remembrance Day Poem)

Hey every eyeball who just so happens to be wandering here! I am back from my incredibly long break, and am about to break you heart with a poem I wrote (I’m kidding. It’s not really that tear-jerking. I made it up in like twenty minutes so give me some slack).

As you can see, I’ve gotten cornier over the past couple of days, but again: some slack please, I’ve literally only got my family to talk to ever since COVID-19 hit (yes, I know, that’s a first world problem. But you guys really don’t want to know what happens when I talk to myself). 🤓

Anyways, before you get up and leave, let me share my poem in remembrance to everyone who either went to the battlefronts and fought for justice, or the people who lost their loved ones. (By the way, people usually think that women only served as nurses, but that is completely wrong and a sexist. This poem is also commemorated to the women who didn’t or don’t have enough recognition from all the things they did).

Into God’s Loving Arms Thou Shalt Go

Another Warrior on the field today.

A father’s anguish, a mother’s dismay.

But before the count of death was tolled,

These last words were whispered to his soul:

“Into God’s loving arms thou shalt go,

The pain of death and life never again to know.”

Sitting in the trenches, you and me.

Hoping to leave behind a legacy.

We guard our stronghold to the death,

Even to the last of our frozen breath.

Into God’s loving arms thou shalt go,

The pain of death and life never again to know.

The call to serve our country has come once again,

Every woman and every man.

The garrison formed, The fear has come,

Mourning before the battle has begun.

Into God’s loving arms thou shalt go,

The pain of death and life never again to know.

The enemy has come, we’re now face to face,

We forget we’re all part of the human race.

The shots are fired, one, two, three.

The earth drank blood, never again to be clean.

Into God’s loving arms thou shalt go,

The pain of death and life never again to know

Millions dead and more still counting.

A solemn wave of sorrow and suffering.

But we will all still arise from the ashes,

With all our wounds, guns, and sashes.

Into God’s loving arms thou shalt go,

The pain of death and life never again to know

      1. For me, the bat theory is preposterous. But I can’t tell what’s right either. I DO know it needs to end now.🙃
